Baad As Salaam Al Jameel,
The Recitation of Quran in Tajweed (as is prayed at public functions; slowly with emphasis on tune and tone etc.) is an art that Moulana TUS constantly encourages Mumineen to develop.  For this reason Mahad Al Zahra has organized a worldwide Tilawat competition. Mumineen and their children are urged to participate and attain the Barakat of Tilawat and the happiness of Moulana TUS.

Details regarding participating in this competition are as follows. :

• All mumineen interested in Qirat can participate in this competition. There is no age criteria.
• This will take place through the computer and recordings will be emailed to Mahad al Zahra-Surat. They will judge the winners.
• The top ten winners will get the opportunity to take place in a special workshop held in Mahad al Zahra Surat.
• The Final round of this competition will take place during the Ayyam of Milad ul Maevi in Aqa Moula’s (TUS) Hazrat Aaaliyah.
  
• There are two ways to participate in this tournament.
  1. We are organizing laptops and headsets for mumineen to come and pray their qirat at the Anjuman. These recordings will be then forwarded to Mahad al Zahra Surat. Those wishing to participate are requested to attend the special program held on Saturday 5th March 2011 from 9 am to 12 pm at the Anjuman Office.
  2. Mumineen can record their tilawat at home and email it directly to Mahad al Zahra Surat.
• Instructions for mumineen wishing  to record their Tilawat at home.

1. Tilawat could be from anywhere in the Quran.
2. Tilawat should be less than 3 minutes.
3. Once the recording is completed it should be saved under your name, e-Jamaat number  & local jamaat eg : huzaifaabdeali_30359366_colombo.
4. Email your recording to Info.mahad@jameasaifiyah.edu

1. Photo should be strictly in QUAMI LIBAS (kurta, saya & topi / rida).

2. Photo should be taken with GREY background only.

3. Photo should cover 85% of HEAD (A colored photo include full face, front view, open eyes, and should be in the CENTER OF THE FRAME and face the camera directly).

4. Size 25 X 30 mm with a resolution 300 DPI (dots per inch and above).

5. Scanned photo is not allowed only DIGITAL PHOTO will be allowed.

6. Gents should wear only TOPI even if they are mashaik (NO Paghari / Feta is allowed).

7. No flash shadow should appear in the photo.

8. If mumin bhai / ben are wearing spectacle, then there should be NO FLASH REFLECTION.

9. There is no stamp, staple or signature mark on the photo.

10. Photo should be in ambient light.

11. Color of the kurta & saya / rida should not be GREY or GOLDEN.

12. Digitally altered photo is not acceptable.
